All vehicles must have all Canadian and U.S. recalls completed before importing. Check the VIN at these two websited before purchasing or importing.
Canada Recall by VIN: https://www.tc.gc.ca/en/services/road/defects-recalls-vehicles-tireschild-car-seats/find-manufacturer.html
United States: https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/
Starting Septmeber 1, 2007, all U.S. passenger vehicles require factory installed TPMS. Any passenger vehicle manufactured after this date without TPMS is not eligible for importation into the United States. Look for the TPMS indicator on the instrument cluster to make sure it is active when the key in turned on.
There are very few Canadian market vehicles that were manufactured without TPMS that can be retrofitted to install the factory system. Check with the manufacture. If listed on NHTSA's Newletter No. 55 as optional, proof needs to be provided of TPMS installed. A picture showing the indicator on or a manufacture build sheet of the VIN showing TPMS was installed when the vehicle was built.
Any vehicle missing the Manufacture's DOT VIN, EPA or Tire Pressure label cannot be processed for conformity until all labels are on the vehicle.
REPLACEMENT LABELS
Rocky Mountain Registered Importers can order replacement labels. We will need a picture of the Dash VIN plate and vehicle build sheet to order a replacement label. If needed, we can also order the build sheet for most vehicles.
Beside converting speedometers from KM to MPH predominant as part of the conformity process coming into the United States, we can also convert MPH to KM for vehicles being imported into Canada.

Every carrier entering the United States requires an ACE Manifest to be pre-filed before entering U.S. Customs Compound at the border. It's a fine-able offense if the ACE is not filed.
If a carrier has a SCAC code but does not have a service to prepare and file an ACE for them, Rocky Mountain Registered Importers can complete this service for you. Please call for pricing and details.
If you require the ACE service, download the Carrier ACE Emanifest form in the next section. Complete all information and return to ace@rockymtnimporters.com
